We went to the De Oude Sluis as we had read positive reviews about the restaurant. And we have to say that we were more than positively surprised. We enjoyed our (great)  dinner a lot. Kudos to the owners and the team. They deserve a compliment.

Outstanding 6 course menu, purely vegan! Hidden gem up north of the Netherlands, close to Lauwersoog. Genuine products, creative interpretation.   Highly recommended.

Friendly service. I had &quot;steak tartare&quot; plus a tarbot (fish) which was excellently prepared. The dryest wine of their (house) wine list, a Sauvignon Blanc, was not as dry as I would have liked it, and the waiter proposed their house ros&eacute; wine which met all my wishes. The dessert was based on fresh red fruit with a bit of ice, and their espresso put me safely back on the road again.

Gisteren weer een heerlijk/ lekker avondje bij Oude Sluis. Dit keer met 2 vrienden. E&eacute;n van ons eet geen gluten een andere geen kaas en champignons. Aan alle wensen kunnen ze voldoen. De wijnen waren ook goed en wat een leuke uitleg erbij. Zo wie zo leuke ontvangst en bedieningKortom wij hebben genoten. Voor herhaling vatbaar

Yesterday again a nice/ delicious evening at Old Sluis. This time with 2 friends. One of us doesn&#39;t eat gluten, another no cheese and champignons. They can meet all the wishes. The wines were also good and a nice explanation. So whosoever has enjoyed the reception and service, in short, we have enjoyed it.

Ik had gereserveerd bij de Oude Sluis .. dus op zoek naar een mooi oud pand in Zoutkamp. Wat een schrik toen we een wat saai ogend appartementen gebouw zagen met op de begane grond een huisartsenpraktijk en een restaurant.. Gelukkig zijn we wel naar binnen gegaan en wat hebben we voortreffelijk gegeten !! Wat een kok !! Een heerlijk voorgerecht ( bloemkool ) , een zalig hoofdgerecht ( roodbaars) en tussendoor getrakteerd op heerlijke amuses !! Zelfs aan het schaaltje olie bij het heerlijke broodje was aandacht besteed door er niet voor de hand liggende kruiden in te doen. Sterrenwaardig !! Het restaurant zelf was heel gewoontjes, beetje rommelig gezellig. De bediening was goed.  De prijzen alleszins redelijk. Wij hadden een topavond. Jammer dat Zoutkamp zo ver weg is.

I had booked at the Old Sluis .. so looking for a beautiful old house in Saltkamp. What a scare when we saw a rather boring eye apartment building with a home doctor practice and a restaurant on the floor.. Fortunately we went in and what we eat excellent !! What a cook !! A lovely first-hand (flower coal ) , a happy main-hand ( redbars) and in the meantime tracked on lovely fun !! Even the oil bar at the delicious bread was attentive by making in it unspoilable herbs. Starworthy !! The restaurant itself was very usual, a little rumorously pleasant. The service was good. We had a top night, but it&#39;s a pity that the Salt Camp is so far away.

To the moment we walked in till the moment we left, we were taken care off. The service and food is SUBLIME! I have already recommended it to friends and family! Its a must on your list!

It&rsquo;s difficult to find actual good food in Groningen but this was amazing. Haven&rsquo;t eaten this good in a while. Loved it!!

Amazing ambience, very gezellig and cosy places to sit. Food was good, portions of some dishes on the smaller side but still a good price-quality level. Highly recommend!

We had the greatest meal and dining experience here on our last night in Groningen.  Our food was terrific and the staff was amazing.  Highly recommend!
